Sapphire Heights

This contemporary loft embraces Toronto's verticality, transforming every corner into a design experience while creating a serene refuge that feels connected to the city yet removed from its chaos. The owners, a sculptor and editor at a renowned fashion magazine, collect curiosities from their travels around the world. The fireplace and its integrated shelving were designed specifically to showcase this curated collection, becoming the visual heart of the space.

The soul of this home lies in its thoughtfully redesigned kitchen, where clean lines merge with the warmth of natural materials. Custom millwork in solid walnut creates visual continuity while maximizing storage within this compact footprint.

The island functions as both culinary workspace and social hub, its waterfall edge lending sculptural elegance to the environment. Warm lighting enhances the interplay between matte black fixtures and brushed brass accents. The result is a kitchen that feels thoroughly modern yet timelessly sophisticated.

The primary bedroom embraces the concept of sanctuary through restraint and refinement. Despite being situated within a completely open loft, the goal was to create an intimate environment for this newly married couple. The custom headboard acts as a subtle room divider, simultaneously functioning as storage on its reverse side, achieving privacy without disrupting the visual flow of the space.
